The slogan "To the Homeland and my culture! we put heart" was ratified in the national ceremony for the 46th anniversary of the foundation of the National Union of Culture Workers (SNTC), held this September 7 in Holguin.
The emblematic Eddy Suñol Theater was witness of the reason why the province of Holguin was awarded with the venue of the national celebration, where a select representation of the local talent showed its gallantry.
With the presence of Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Party and First Secretary in the province of Holguín, Governor Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera and other political, governmental, cultural and union leaders, people and institutions of this sector that is the shield and sword of the nation were honored.
Felix Martinez Perez, top union leader of the Culture workers in Holguin, when receiving the recognition that accredits the province as National Vanguard in the first stage of the emulative movement "Culture in Revolution", highlighted the work developed by the 260 union structures of the territory.
In the emotional event, the Party and the Provincial Government presented awards to the National Union of Culture Workers.
The commemorative emblem 80th anniversary of the founding of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, was also received by the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods, and Ricardo Ronda Chacón, director of the Provincial Unit of Support to Cultural Activity, as a personality.
The event, with the participation of workers, artists and creators from Holguin, was attended by national leaders of the union, as well as from the provinces of Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, which received stimuli as outstanding territories.
For their contribution, eight entities of the sector were recognized in this celebration, among them the Cultural Activity Support Unit (Upaac), the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem), the Provincial Book and Literature Center, the Cultural Goods Fund, the Propaganda and Events Business Unit and the Artex branch office.
The celebration of the date, which was inspired by the founding of this union on September 7, 1977, was also an opportunity to award the Raúl Gómez García medal to a group of outstanding creators in the sector.
The municipalities of Holguín and Cacocum were also honored for their outstanding work.
The occasion was favorable for the presentation of the call for the Second National Conference of the SNTC, made by Katia Rodríguez Ramos, general secretary of this structure at national level; in turn, the union leader communicated special congratulations to all affiliates on behalf of Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento - general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Central Confederation, and Alpidio Alonso Grau - Minister of Culture.
Rodriguez Ramos emphasized that this call comes at a time when we are in the midst of the battle to strengthen and stimulate dialogue, as well as to respond to the demands of these times, with concrete actions in the different areas of the country's cultural and social life.
