Among the graduates, Henry Alvarez, Golden Degree and Most Integral Student, who spoke on behalf of his classmates and thanked the support of parents, teachers and Holguin, the land where he earned his degree, and which he will miss from his native Palma Soriano, province of Santiago de Cuba.
The graduation gala, conceived with art, as corresponds to this Center of Higher Studies, impressed those present with its organic conception, the elegant conduction and the dedication of the students of Bel Canto Singing.
Also, the performances of Marigdalia Leyva Borjas, graduated with a Gold Degree in the specialty of clarinet, and actors from the company Palabras al Viento, who together with Editorial La Luz supported graduate Hector Carlos Ochoa Cabrera for the realization of his final exercise: the audio book El Musgo que Brota. In this work, literature and theater are linked with image and sound, to the delight of children, above all.
The cold and rainy night did not prevent the graduation of eight students from showing shining art. Throughout the gala flowed the best that ISA students from Holguin know to do: instrumental and choral music, and the distinction for bel canto singing, as well as audiovisuals, and a passion for the best of Cuban culture.
The highest political and governmental figures were present at the event, so the director of the Holguin branch of ISA, the versatile Isabel Garcia Granado, thanked the presence of Ernesto Santisteban Velazquez, First Secretary of the Party in the province, Governor Julio Cesar Estupiñan Rodriguez, and Rachel Garcia Heredia, provincial director of Culture.
In the closing words, Alexis Seijo Garcia - ISA rector-, highlighted the value of this graduation in the midst of the pandemic, and the love that was sown in the students, who will surely be missing the Romerias de Mayo festival and the many cultural events organized in Holguin, that have served them as source of knowledge and preparation material as Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media.
