During the political activity, the Comandos 30, 15, 10 and 6, and the Technological Workshop were recognized, as well as a group of organizations and entities with outstanding work, among them the Fire Protection Agency, the Association of Volunteer Firefighters and three companies from the municipality of Moa: the Port, "Che Guevara" nickel plant and "Pedro Soto Alba" nickel company.
They also recognized the work of 28 comrades of the Military Unit known as "La Pua", who in July worked in extinguishing the fire that affected the center and neaby areas. Also, three other officers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces were acknowledged.
Cuba celebrates every November 13 the Fireman's Day, since on that date in 1696 the First Corps of the specialty was created in Santa Clara, the first of its kind in the country.
