Young people from the Government of holguin remember Fidel's birthday anniversary.

And that's where the members of cell of the Young Communist League from Holguín Provincial Government went to, specifically to Salto del Guayabo, to celebrate International Youth Day and commemorate the 94th birthday anniversary of the Commander in Chief.

For most of them it was their "first time". Being there and observing the green of its trees and the fauna of the place was a joy. To enjoy the same land that many years before Fidel and Raul visited, a prelude to what would be their preparation and experience "in the mountains" in the Sierra Maestra mountain range.

It was precisely Fidel who defended preserving the place, building a comprehensive Mountain Research Station in Pinares, besides exploiting the natural values of the region.

In the area they still remember with pleasure Fidel's ball game with a team made up of his companions, mostly ministers, versus the boys who were studying at the then Vegetable Institute.

The game took place on a baseball field built next to houses under construction then for the school teachers, and very close to the slope of the hillof La Mesura mountain.

"One feels his presence in every place. And experiences like these should always be carried out so that young people know about local and national history, because in this area Fidel and Raúl spent part of their time," said Ulises Rodríguez, secretary general of the grassroots committee.

For her part, young girl Alicia said that being there was a rewarding experience, as well as learning the anecdotes of the historical leaders of the Revolution. "Knowing their sacrifices is an incentive and a commitment for us to build and contribute to the Cuba they dreamed of," she said.

These and other stories were heard by those young people during their stay, as part of the strategy of the Cuban State to care for the youth and support their activities, what from the Government of Holguin is felt and promoted in each organization. It shows that, just like those places, Socialism is also beautiful.
